The framework and the 0-10 scale

The framework is your club's definition of what good looks like, and it decides the shape of every assessment and every radar.

Steps

  1. Open Assessment framework from the Plan group.
  2. Read the Pillars and skills list. A pillar holds skills, and a skill holds competencies.
  3. Press Edit rating levels on a skill to see the five written descriptors behind its scale.

Good to know

  • Every skill is scored 0 to 10. Every competency is flagged red, amber or green. They are two instruments in one assessment and you can use either or both.
  • The five bands are 0-2 Beginner, 3-4 Developing, 5-6 Competent, 7-8 Advanced, 9-10 Elite.
  • Your club starts with six pillars in badminton wording: Technical, Tactical, Movement, Physical, Mental and Lifestyle. Each carries its own descriptors.
  • Order is not cosmetic. Pillar and skill order is the order of the scoring screen and the axes of the radar.
  • The overall score is the mean of the pillar averages, so a pillar with two skills counts as much as one with eight.
