The framework and the 0-10 scale
The framework is your club's definition of what good looks like, and it decides the shape of every assessment and every radar.
Steps
- Open Assessment framework from the Plan group.
- Read the Pillars and skills list. A pillar holds skills, and a skill holds competencies.
- Press Edit rating levels on a skill to see the five written descriptors behind its scale.
Good to know
- Every skill is scored 0 to 10. Every competency is flagged red, amber or green. They are two instruments in one assessment and you can use either or both.
- The five bands are 0-2 Beginner, 3-4 Developing, 5-6 Competent, 7-8 Advanced, 9-10 Elite.
- Your club starts with six pillars in badminton wording: Technical, Tactical, Movement, Physical, Mental and Lifestyle. Each carries its own descriptors.
- Order is not cosmetic. Pillar and skill order is the order of the scoring screen and the axes of the radar.
- The overall score is the mean of the pillar averages, so a pillar with two skills counts as much as one with eight.
