For coaches

Ask a player to rate themselves

A self-assessment is the player's own view of the same framework, and the gap between the two is usually the coaching conversation.

Steps

  1. Open the player record.
  2. In the radar section, press Ask to rate themselves.
  3. The player, and their parents, get the request in their portal.
  4. When they answer, their scores appear as the overlay on the radar and in Coach vs self.

Good to know

  • Only the player can answer. A parent can open the portal but cannot rate the child, by design.
  • Asking twice does nothing. If a request is already outstanding, Rotate tells you so rather than putting two banners in front of a 12 year old.
  • The banner clears itself the moment the player answers.
  • A self-assessment is never shown as a coach score. It is always drawn as the player's own line.
  • A player can rate themselves whenever they like; they do not have to wait to be asked.
