Update, complete or reopen a goal

A goal carries its whole story: what changed, when the deadline moved, and what happened in the end.

Steps

  1. Open the player's Goals book and find the goal.
  2. Use the row menu for what you need: Add a note, Move the deadline, Complete goal, Reopen goal, Archive goal, Edit goal or Add follow-on goal.
  3. To finish a goal, press Complete goal, answer What happened? and save.
  4. To move a date, press Move the deadline, set the New deadline and add Why the move? (optional).

Good to know

  • Completing a goal requires an outcome note. A goal with no ending is not worth reading back in six months.
  • Reopening a goal counts against the three-active cap, so you may need to park another one first.
  • A follow-on goal is linked back to its parent, and the parent's trail records that it led somewhere.
  • Every note, extension, completion and reopening is added to the goal's trail with your name and the date.
  • Archive goal takes it out of the player's view entirely; it is not the same as completing it.
