Who can see your messages

Every thread says who is in it, right under its name, so you always know who is reading before you type.

Steps

1. Open Messages and tap a conversation.
2. Look at the tag beside the name: Private, Family thread or Group.
3. Read the line under it. It names everybody who can see the thread.
4. If that is not who you meant to talk to, go back and use a different thread.

Good to know

• Private is strictly two people. While you are under 18 you will not have a private thread with a coach at all.
• A Family thread is you, your parent and your coach. It is deliberately transparent: nobody in it is being talked about behind their back.
• A Group is everybody it names. Assume anything you send goes to all of them.
• Club announcements on Home are not messages. They go to everybody and you cannot reply to them.
• Your coach is a club coach, not a private contact. Treat threads as club business.
